MITOS DEL MTB: NED OVEREND
Ned Overend nació el 20 de agosto de 1955 en Taipei, Taiwán, hijo de un diplomático estadounidense, comenzo en ciclismo de montaña a principios de los años 1980. Su carrera profesional se inicion en 1983, militando en el equipo Schwin de 1983 a 1986, y en el equipo Specialized desde 1988 hasta hoy en dia. Ned Overend fue el primer Ned Overend nació el 20 de agosto de 1955 en Taipei, campeon dle mundo de mountain bke en 1990
Entro en Hall of fame del mountainbike en 1990 y en el Hall of fame del ciclismo americano en 2001.
Retirado del ciclismo profesional en 1996, ha seguido compitiendo hasta nuestros dias logrando victorias en los x terra, pruebas de triatlhon y otros eventos, su nombre hoy en dia esta ligado a la marca specialized, para la que trabaja como imagen publica de la marca en multitud de eventos teniendo su propia gama de productos specialized denominada The captain
